Cookie Policy

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies Les Rives uses, what each one does, and how you can change your choice at any time. It’s written to accompany the short consent banner you see on your first visit — the banner keeps things brief, the detail lives here.
Essential Cookies (Always Active)
These keep the site working and can’t be switched off. They don’t require your consent because the site simply doesn’t function without them.
- Booking cart (Trekksoft) — keeps track of a tour you’re reserving as you move between pages, so you don’t lose your booking in progress. Strictly necessary for the reservation to work.
- Live chat (Tidio) — when you open chat, Tidio sets a cookie to keep your conversation connected and recognise you if you come back to continue it. We classify this as essential because it’s how our team answers questions about your trip in real time; if you’d rather not use it, you can always reach us by phone, WhatsApp, or email instead (see our Contact page).
- Instagram feed — the photos on our site are fetched and stored on our own server, not loaded from Instagram directly, so viewing them sets no cookies and makes no request to Instagram or Meta.
- Security & preferences — basic cookies that keep the site secure and remember choices like your selected language.
Statistics Cookies (Only With Your Consent)
These help us understand which tours and pages resonate, so we can improve the site. They’re anonymous, aggregated, and off by default — they only run once you accept them.
- Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit) — usage statistics.
- Microsoft Clarity — anonymised behaviour insights (for example, which sections of a page get attention) that help us fix confusing layouts.
We use Google’s Consent Mode: if you don’t accept statistics cookies, no personal data is collected, but Google may still estimate aggregate trends from anonymous signals. If you accept, these tools load and full analytics resume.
Marketing Cookies (Only With Your Consent)
These let us measure and improve the paid advertising that brings visitors to the site, and show you more relevant tours and stories. They’re off by default and only load if you accept them — delivered through Google Tag Manager, which loads:
- Google Ads — conversion tracking and remarketing, so we can see which ad campaigns lead to bookings.
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel — measures the results of our Facebook and Instagram advertising.
- Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads) — measures the results of our Bing advertising.
Managing Your Consent
You can change your choice at any time using the “Manage cookie consent” link in the footer of every page. It reopens the same preferences you saw on your first visit, so you can accept, decline, or fine-tune by category.
You can also control cookies through your browser’s own settings, and most browsers let you send a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal, which we respect automatically.
Your Data, Your Rights
For how we handle personal data more broadly — what we collect, why, and your rights to access or delete it — see our Privacy Policy. To exercise those rights or ask a question about this page, reach us through our Contact page.
