Absolutely amazing day out!
What an absolutely great day out! Seeing the city and the Mekong Delta by river, arriving early at the tunnels before the crowds, the tunnel experience itself, the delicious and huge lunch after, the really interesting walk through the market and the visits to the temple, orphanage and fruit farm, and the rowboat ride where my kids got to row - all unforgettable memories to take away. But what really made the whole thing work was the amazing Les Rives team, with Hang as our super-guide -- knowledgeable, friendly, funny, passionate, Saigon native, my kids loved her. Her team: The (I call him The Caterer) and Thuan who continually supplied us with snacks, cold water and soda, and a variety of fruit that included mangosteen, pomelo, longan, bananas, sapodilla, peaches, dragon fruit, etc. Only Durian was missing! Last but not least, Phong our able boatman, navigating huge rivers and little canals with equal aplomb. Thanks much, guys, you rock!

My sister and I visited Vietnam during her spring break and enjoyed a WONDERFUL tour with Les Rives! We signed up for the tour that included the Cu Chi Tunnels + The Mekong Delta. With the two combined, the tour is about 9 hours. We were picked up on time at our hotel and driven to the dock which was fairly close. There was a small wait at the dock but soon enough we were on our boat and headed to the Cu Chi Tunnels. Taking a speedboat to the tunnels was scenic and much shorter than the drive. On the boat they had drinks and food for us and great snacks throughout the day. The actual tour of the tunnels was informative and interesting. Being in the space really brought the history to life and I found it all pretty fascinating. We even got to walk through a section of the tunnels but if you're somewhat claustrophobic you can easily opt out of this part. After the tunnels we set out for the delta. I loved seeing the countryside from the boat. We had a really delicious lunch at a local restaurant and also toured a farm, stopped at a local village. One of my favorite parts was when we went on a canoe ride down a portion of the delta, it was simple but really beautiful and peaceful. Our guide was very helpful and full of information and helped to make our tour special. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip and I'd absolutely recommend Les Rives to any friends visiting Vietnam.

Shooting range: An optional activity at the site, payable on the day at roughly 75,000 VND per bullet. Not included in the tour price.

Anna our guide was really great! Super knowledgeable, she gave us a lot of information throughout the day, answering all of our questions . The cu chi tunnel in the early morning is great, we were the 1st in site ! The visit of a local town / market/ temple in the afternoon gave us a different perspective on the region . We do appreciate the fact we were not bring to any shopping tourist area but meeting with local community . Thank you Nb - just be aware you will spend at least 4 hours total on the speed boat.

Highly recommend
We went on the cu chi tunnels speed boat trip one day and the Mekong Delta speed boat trip the following day. Both were excellent from start to finish. Win was our guide for the cu chi trip and was a wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable and looked after us very well. Cu chi tunnels is a must see when visiting Vietnam. The Mekong Delta trip takes you to a quiet village to see a market, temple and pagoda. No other tourists there and is an insight into real life in Vietnam. We also visited 2 farms and sat with the families. Our guide Lucky was amazing and told us so much about everywhere we went in a very friendly and relaxed way. A lovely change from the busyness of the city.
Absolutely Wonderful Day with Vin and the Crew
My husband and I spent the day with Vin, our guide, visiting the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Mekong Delta. It one if the best days of our trip. Vin was very knowledgeable and helpful. We visited a fruit farm, had lunch in a quaint riverside restaurant, took a small pole boat ride and generally had a wonderfully peaceful and pleasant day. Thank you Vin and all!
Great tour!!!
We had a great time on this tour visiting the Mekong Delta! Really fun seeing local markets and farms. We didn’t see any other tourists at all the entire day and it felt like we got a real glimpse into local life. We loved going by speedboat, it was really fun being on the water and an efficient way to get around. And our tour guide, Anna, was awesome. Really nice and informative and she made it so interesting and fun for us. This was a great experience, highly recommend!!!

We had a wonderful day with Hang and the team from Les Rives arriving by speed boat at the Chu Chi tunnels before the crowds. Hang was such an informative guide always with a smile. The afternoon spent in the Mekong Delta was beautiful…. Would thoroughly recommend this tour!
Fantastic Family Time
It was an amazing trip! It was absolutely worth paying a bit extra to go on this fantastic tour with this company. Traveling by speedboat meant we arrived at the Cu Chi Tunnels almost first, so we could explore this fascinating place comfortably. Then we had a longer journey again, but it was incredibly interesting, traveling along the Saigon River, through nearby canals, all the way to the Mekong Delta, where we visited more truly fascinating spots. It’s also really worth mentioning that we had a wonderful guide, Hang, who was contagious with her enthusiasm, answered every question, and spoke excellent English. We recommend it with all our hearts. I’d also like to add that no one pressured us to write this review, which is unfortunately a known practice in this kind of business. It was a truly premium experience and we highly recommend it to everyone.
Boat based tour
The tour was incredible. Very encompassing of the Vietnam war history as well as visiting a small town to see the local market away from other tourists and to an orchard to see and taste local fruit. Lucky was our tour guide and she was very personable and loves her job. My friends and I had a great time.

Before you board.
Why do you ask for my passport number when booking?
We are required by Vietnamese local authorities to collect passport details for all guests before departure. If you don’t have your passport number to hand when booking, simply complete your reservation first and email your passport details to bookings@lesrivesexperience.com at your convenience before the tour. Your information is used solely for the required registration process.
Why are your tours more expensive than other operators?
Most operators run large buses to crowded sites. We travel by private luxury speedboat in small groups, arriving ahead of the crowds, with breakfast, lunch, refreshments, all entrance fees, your guide, hotel transfers and travel insurance already included, no hidden extras.
A share of every booking also supports the local riverside families and communities we work with. You’re paying for a calmer, more comfortable, more responsible day out, not just a seat.
Are there proper toilets, food stops, and any forced shopping?
Yes. We include comfortable restroom breaks throughout the day. And no, there are no forced shopping stops or commission-based detours. Every moment is dedicated to discovering the authentic Mekong Delta, not gift shops.
What should I bring?
Sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, comfortable clothing and your camera. We provide drinking water, refreshments, insect repellent, waterproof ponchos and umbrellas, so you can travel light.
How long does it take to reach the Cu Chi Tunnels by speedboat?
About 1 hour 15 minutes along the Saigon River. The boat pauses at a few points along the way for your guide to share stories of riverside life and because we set off early, you arrive ahead of the buses groups.
I'm claustrophobic — do I have to go inside the tunnels?
Not at all. The tunnels have been widened but can still feel tight, so going underground is completely optional and only a small part of the day. Your guide will look after you, and there’s plenty to see above ground.
How much walking is there at the Cu Chi Tunnels?
Around 600–700m in total across the site, at an easy pace with rest stops along the way.
Which tunnels do you visit — Ben Dinh or Ben Duoc?
Our tours visit Ben Dinh, with the exception of the boat-and-bicycle option, which goes to Ben Duoc. We can also arrange Ben Duoc on a private tour by request.
Is the shooting range included?
The entrance fee to Cu Chi is already included in your tour price. The optional shooting range is not if you’d like to try it, it’s about 75,000 VND (around $3) per bullet, paid on the day.
How long does it take to reach the Mekong Delta by speedboat?
About 1 hour 20 minutes by speedboat, far quicker and more scenic than the road, which is why the day never feels rushed.
What will we see and do in the Mekong Delta?
A full, relaxed day: a fruit orchard, a riverside market, a traditional rowboat through the canals, a Buddhist pagoda and a Cao Dai temple, and a local farmhouse for coconut-candy and rice-whisky tasting, finishing with a traditional lunch featuring the region’s famous fried elephant-ear fish.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Full refund if you cancel at least 7 days before your tour. 50% refund for cancellations 6–3 days before. Within 3 days, the booking is non-refundable.
Where is the meeting point if my pickup location is not in your pickup zone?
The meeting point will be the Saigon Water Bus Station, please openopen this link to get the direction to the meeting point.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If conditions are unsafe, we’ll reschedule or cancel and let you know in advance, with alternative options. Light rain isn’t a problem — our speedboats have full rain protection, and we provide waterproof ponchos and umbrellas on board.
What payment methods do you accept, and is it secure?
We accept all major credit cards, cash or bank transfer. Online payments are processed by Trekksoft, our PCI-DSS-compliant booking partner, with SSL encryption, your card and personal details are never stored on our site.
Are your boats and tours safe?
Yes. Every speedboat carries complete international-standard safety equipment, life jackets for all guests, and rain protection for any season. Although our boats hold up to 20, we carry a maximum of 14–15 guests so everyone travels comfortably and safely.
Are your tours suitable for children and families?
Absolutely. Our tours suit all ages, with child-sized life jackets on board and a relaxed small-group pace that works well for families. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult — just let us know the ages when you book so we can prepare.
Can you cater to vegetarian or other dietary needs?
Yes. We’re happy to arrange vegetarian and other special diets, just note your requirements in the booking form.
Are your tours suitable for older travellers or those who aren't very fit?
Yes. Our tours are comfortable for guests roughly aged 7 to 70. The speedboat does most of the travelling, walking is gentle and broken up with rest stops, and our guides are always on hand to help.
What languages do your guides speak?
All of our guides are fluent in English. Guides in other languages can often be arranged in advance for an additional fee ,just ask when you book.
