7:00 am: Your guide will meet you in the lobby of your hotel and bring you by car to your boat at Ho Chi Minh City’s central pier at District 1.
7:20 am: Depart Saigon by speedboat. Within 15 minutes, the banks of the river change from city sprawl to lush jungle. A light breakfast of sandwiches or pastries, fresh tropical fruits and Vietnamese iced coffee (Ca phe sua da) is served, as your guide explains rural traditions and aspects of riverbank life.
8:50 am: Arrive at Cu Chi, top quality Merida, Trek or Giant mountain bikes with helmets are
ready for you to start the exciting road trip of 20km. Guided by a well English spoken biker, you will ride the back roads and hidden dirt trails to escape the crowds and bus tourists and to see the real Southern Vietnam. The cycling route follows scenic, rural roads specially chosen for this area. Ride through shaded rubber plantations, cycle to a rice paper workshop, and enjoy the friendly, smiling faces of villagers and artisans along the way. You will have a light snack after finishing half of the cycling trip.
12:00 pm: Explore the tunnel site, which includes weapon and booby trap exhibitions, navigating authentic Viet Cong tunnel, visiting different underground bunkers (kitchens, meeting rooms, ammunitions etc.), a firing range and much more. Try the local cassava root that sustained Viet Cong fighters for years.
1:00 pm: Enjoy a delicious traditional Vietnamese lunch by the river, consisting of authentic
fried spring rolls, chicken and beef dishes and soup.
2:00 pm: Say goodbye to Cu Chi Tunnel and return to Ho Chi Minh City by boat.
